Bookkeeper

Position Description   

Title: Bookkeeper

Department: Finance

Reports To: Executive Assistant

    □ Exempt □Non-Exempt


Primary Function:

Support and execute finance functions including: accounting, financial and business operations, and payroll, 
with primary concern for ensuring financial well-being to carry out the Boys & Girls Clubs mission. 
Part-time position with flexible hours i.e.: mornings, afternoons, or mothers’ hours. 

 Knowledge of Quickbooks (QB)
 Enters and codes accounts payable, when required, investigates inconsistencies
 Will be required to communicate with vendors
 Runs unpaid bills detail report
 Works with Executive Assistant/Office Manger to manage and track receivables and payables 
  after approved by Executive Director
 Enters staff payroll into QB system 
 Records and tracks deposits
 Balances checking accounts
 Runs monthly financial reports as detailed by Executive Director
 Assists auditors with record keeping systems and procedures
 Generates 1099's for clients
 Maintain general ledger
 Assist with Grant Management. Provide billing services for reimbursable grants and maintain proper grant
  documentation
 Perform other duties as assigned from time to time by Executive Director or Executive Assistant
 Provide cash flow analysis and reports

Skills/Knowledge:

• Capable of self-direction
• Knowledge of programs and activities. Able to receive and provide accurate information to staff and customers
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Three to five years of clerical, office, customer service experience or a combination of comparable skills
• Keyboarding skills a must
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail is a must
• Pleasant demeanor in relating to customers and interacting with others
• Clean, neat professional appearance in order to properly represent the organization
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
• Knowledge of how to use the Clubs computers, software and databases as relates to the position

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

• Sitting, standing, minimal physical up and down within area
• Desk position
